This Canada Day, we want to highlight something many shoppers don’t realize: 95% of everything we receive in donations finds a new purpose — resold on our sales floor or responsibly recycled — so almost nothing ends up in a landfill. That means when you drop off your gently used clothing, household items, or accessories at any Talize location, the vast majority find a second life in the hands of someone in your own community. 

To put that into perspective, each Talize store diverts more than 2 million pounds of clothing from landfills every year — a small donation bag adding up to a massive collective impact for our planet and our communities. 

Creating Jobs in the Communities We Serve 

Beyond donations, Talize plays an active role in strengthening the Canadian job market. Every store we open creates new local employment opportunities — from sales floor associates to donation sorters to customer service teams — giving people in the community a chance to build meaningful careers close to home. 

Giving Back to Our Community Partners 

Community support doesn’t stop at our store doors. Talize is a proud supporter of SickKids Foundation, helping raise vital funds that support world-class care and research for children across Canada. Every donation and purchase at Talize plays a small part in a much bigger mission: helping kids and families when they need it most. 

At Talize, we are also passionate about supporting charities and community collaboration. We are currently working with Cornerstone to Recovery, supporting their efforts in addiction recovery — work that has impacted so many individuals across our communities. We’re proud to help them manage their clothing donations, ensuring items stay out of landfills, not only to support a more sustainable future but also to help them raise the funds they need to be successful.
